The flexibility of the AIM inertial measurement system together with advanced wave analysis algorithms creates a wave buoy sensor suitable for a wide range of buoy applications. This ranges from small shallow water buoys with limited power availability, to large deep water multi sensor meteorological buoys.

The sensor is designed to run off a 12V unregulated power supply, typically a combination of battery supplemented with solar panels. There are two power versions, standard and lo-power. The standard version draws 0.16 amp hour. The lo-power version draws 0.09 amp hour but has reduced processing performance, see below.
